This 1926 Craftsman was in desperate need of a new kitchen and safe access to the backyard. An 11’ wide addition expanded the kitchen to create a more functional layout and eating nook. It extended the master bedroom to create a larger closet, new shoe storage niche and new window. A sewing room was created in the basement. A new interior stair to the backyard creates a light filled entry along with substantial storage space. An elevated deck allows for dining in the tree canopy off the kitchen. The standalone artist studio replaced a dilapidated garage. An aluminum and glass garage door with clerestory windows above allow natural light to pour in. Three glass doors along the south side provide additional natural light and views to the backyard.
