Maple Leaf Remodel

Seattle, Washington

A maze of doors and circuitous circulation made the dining room and kitchen function more as hallways than useable rooms. New linear circulation makes the rooms feel larger and accommodates more people. New dining room windows placed above the wainscoting creates space for a window seat and new custom dining table. The new kitchen layout dramatically increases the counter space, storage and overall functionality. Open shelves and punched metal doors keep the upper cabinets feeling lightweight and increase the openness of the room. A nook next to the refrigerator creates a small home office. A “perch” creates an ideal place for friends to gather and help in the kitchen.
